As a fan of Forza Motorsport ever since it's inception, I've been led to believe that Turn10 set the bar so high on a racing game that it would be impossible to be raise it any higher until of course the next installation arrived.

Well, my fellow Oppo-nauts. There is a revolution coming that so far looks like it will make Forza look like it belongs in the stone-age.

Project CARS.

Just look at it. LOOK AT IT. IT'S...IT'S BEAUTIMUS.

Kinja'd!!!

Oh, and this damage modelling looks unlike anything ever seen in a licensed racing game. Hory sheet.

My fear is how much money I'm going to have to dump into my PC to handle this at settings I know I will want to run it at.

From what I've read it'll be for the PS4 and Xbon—-Xbox One as well as the PC, which makes me happy. Don't get me wrong though, I'd love to see this game running at it's very best.

Project Cars does little for me. I want a game that lets me drive loads of normal and classic cars. I don't really care about racing machines.

Very beautiful graphics, although Assetto Corsa is said to have the superior physics. I would love to compare both, in the end modding support would be the biggest selling point on my side.

It's very good. A different feel and focus from iRacing obviously, but when I want to hoon a 458, F40, or a 1M I go with Assetto Corsa.

The AI all drive like M. Rossi from the Forza series right now, but at least they update it every other Friday so it should be fixed soon.

AC has also made iR pick up its game as of late, so it's a great time to be a sim racer.

Wel iRacing embarrasses and frustrates me on occasion, so I just want to go hoon. But in a sim way, with nice graphics. So it sounds like a great idea.

And I just can't make my racing wheel work in the living room, where GT6 would probably be the solution to all this.

I can relate to that. I used to clamp my G27 to my desk while playing in an office chair. As I got more experienced sim racing, I upgraded to a load cell, but then with the force I put on the pedals, I started rolling all over the place, then would try to pull my self back using the wheel, which would make it slide LOL

I got an Obutto Ozone for Christmas, which is great if you need a dual purpose desk/sim rig.

I have that same setup now, with the office chair. My pedals will slide before the chair, I occasionally have to pull them back with my toes during a race... I'm very good at it. It's an art.

I'll have to look at that butt ozone thing. But I can't really afford much of anything, so I'll keep playing at my desk until someone gives me a table to clamp my wheel to in front of the PS3.

I'm bummed this isn't coming out on the 360 anymore, and there's no way my laptop could handle it.

Honestly, after seeing your BF4 pc post (I think that was you?) you should be able to handle it at very high/ultra.

I already splurged on a Quadro for the working, so yea a 660 should be plenty for the amount of gaming I'll actually do.

I mean, I know it sounds weird, but racing games aren't something I really mind playing on med/low settings, because you're not actually looking at anything besides the ass of the car in front of you. Even then, its not something you want to keep looking at.

It's made by the same people who developed the Need for Speed Shift series, and that wasn't very good from a gameplay perspective. I'm reluctant to get excited about it.

Eugh. Unfortunately it looks like they've retained the same physics from Need for Speed Shift. That just killed my buzz.

Its also the same people that made GTR 1 and 2 and GT Legends before opening Slightly Mad Studios. And they parted ways with EA because they want Project CARS to be a realistic sim, not Shift 3. Back to their roots, so to say.

Ah, a kindred spirit! This is actually the thing I like about Project CARS: It's finally a proper simulator that has street car content. Looking at the screenshots posted they already have stuff like various Ariel Atoms, Caterham Sevens, the BAC Mono, LanEvo X FQ-400, Ruf RGT-8, Merc SLS AMG Coupe, McLaren MP4-12C and F1, Ford Focus RS Mk II and Renault Megane RS Cup, as well as stuff like Paganis, Gumpert etc., and those are just the ones already in-game, with more already licensed (they have licensing news on their front page) but not yet in-game (like LanEvo VI and IX, Ruf CTR3 and RT12R, McLaren P1, Ford Escort RS1600, Merc A45 AMG), and the videos on YouTube also show at least two tracks that seem to be on fairly normal roads (Nords is where it's at for me though). It won't have hundreds of different street cars like GT and Forza, but I'd rather take a couple of dozen of them with proper physics any day of the week.

It's actually a non-issue. The engine used in pCARS is the same Madness engine used in Shift (2), but with more accurate values for the physics model . The Shift series took some license with said values to make them more 'accessible'. There are mods for both to rectify that...
